The Smart Start Team

The Smart Start Team was convened in the late 1990's to assess and improve the University's opening of school process.  They developed a business process map and a high level vision that included the concept of a knowledge worker known as a Facilitator.

A complete outline of the team's vision can be found in the Smart Start Final Report, which is available upon request by calling (520) 621-5918.  Many of the concepts outlined in the report have been fully implemented.  The Smart Card is embodied in the University's universal ID card, the CatCard, and the Facilitator Program now has one full-time employee.  The new student information system COSMOS is currently in development with several modules implemented and running in parallel with the legacy system.
